Democratic Party candidate for New Mexico State Representative - District 59

District 59 has been Kimble’s home since he moved to the mountains near Capitan as a young man.  He cares about our land and shares  the concerns of the hardworking people here.  Kimble will fight to bring *GOOD JOBS, *INCREASED MINIMUM WAGE, *HEALTHCARE AS A RIGHT– NOT A PRIVILEGE, *RENEWABLE ENERGY, *IMPROVED EDUCATION, ROADS, & WATER SYSTEMS, *GOVERNMENT INCENTIVES FOR SMALL BUSINESS & RANCHES.

EDUCATION:

Kimble earned a B. A. in Biology/Chemistry with emphasis in Environmental Conservation at UNM, and an M. A. in Education with emphasis in Curriculum Development at NMSU.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

FAMILY:

Kimble is married to Patricia Jean Otero-Kearns.  They have 3 children, and 4 grandchildren.

Kimble believes that every New Mexican matters and that all us should have an equal voice in our government in Santa Fe. 
He stands against the influence on government by the fortunate few and powerful special interest groups. He stands for the 99%- people like himself.

Kimble affirms the ties that bind New Mexicans together. “We are not to be divided along cultural lines.”       
He envisions a New Mexico in which every person is treated with respect and is provided the opportunity to live a life of dignity with:                                        

1.) A secure, decent-paying job;                                          

2.) Not-for-profit healthcare;                              

3.) Quality public schools;       

4.) Access to training for jobs in renewable energy technology;  

5.) Affordable college;              

6.) Incentives to start or grow a small business, farm, or ranch;                        

7.) Time to enjoy the unspoiled beauty of our land- mountains, deserts, & streams.

ISSUES CONCERNING THOSE OF US WHO LIVE IN HOUSE DISTRICT  59

For too many years citizens of Roswell, Capitan, Carrizozo, Corona, and surrounding rural areas have been short changed on State capital outlay funding of infrastructure and initiatives which encourage job creation through small business growth, for examples;

*good schools with good teachers for levels Pre-K thru 12;

*community infrastructure improvements to roads, water systems, renewable energy opportunities, and

*health care as a human right- not a privilege. 

DISTRICT 59 NEEDS A DEMOCRATIC REPRESENTATIVE WHO CAN WORK WITH THE DEMOCRATIC MAJORITY LEADERS IN THE STATE HOUSE TO BRING HOME CAPITAL OUTLAY FUNDING.  KIMBLE WILL PUSH FOR MORE BENEFITS TO COME TO THOSE OF US WHO LIVE IN DISTRICT 59

Beginning in 2019, when Michelle Lujan-Grisham won the governor’s office and Democrats won most legislative seats, small communities and rural areas in other parts of New Mexico have seen increased funding for projects which benefit working poor and middle class folks.
Those of us who live in District 59 need a Democratic Party State Representative who shares the concerns of ordinary citizens and will fight to increase funding for projects which benefit our part of New Mexico.

ISSUES CONCERNING ALL NEW MEXICO

*Jobs and Rural Economic Development: NM Government should continue investing in local economic development by supporting small, local businesses and funding municipal and rural infrastructure projects.  Kimble loves small businesses and family owned ranches.  He and his wife, Patty, run a business of their own and understands how Santa Fe could help.  Kimble will work in Santa Fe to bring small business incentives and support to our rural communities so those who live in District 59 will find help building or starting a business of their own. 

*Support family operated farms and ranches:  These agricultural industries are crucial to New Mexico’s economy as a whole.
*Education: Improve educational outcomes for our children by investing in our schools and supporting our teachers. We need to ensure that teachers have adequate tools to improve student proficiency in reading and math.  We should do more to help our kids get a head start by investing in Early Childhood Education.
*Climate Change & Renewable Energy: Create incentives for more wind and solar power energy production to provide jobs and reduce greenhouse gasses in accordance with the Environmental Transition Act (ETA) of 2019
*Protect Our Environment:  Stand against big corporations who would damage our water, air, and public land, for profit.  

Kimble will support legislation which will...

Expand health care and social services for all New Mexicans: Improve access to health care services for the elderly and veterans, women seeking reproductive health care, and those who have mental health and addiction concerns. 

We should encourage dental programs that provide affordable dental care to children and families, and create incentives for medical professionals to practice in small communities and rural areas. 

We need to increase the working family's tax credit for low income New Mexicans, and encourage increased enrollment in federally funded health and nutrition programs.
